Retreat Review

So we had a wicked awesome youth retreat this year!! Only 12 youth were there, but it felt like a lot more because we had 8 leaders. Bird River Bible Camp is a really great place for retreats, it's just that its kinda far away and it took us FOREVER to get there because the roads weren't plowed yet on Friday. We did eventually make it, and it was definitely worth it!
It was really great having Krista there! She did all the sessions, and man, that girl knows how to make tears flow! Every year we do 4 or 5 stations of the cross, and every years we have tears. I love doing it, it's such a great reminder of everything God has done for us. I ended up having to read the 'script' for our group because Vergil said he would cry if he did it....so he made me cry instead.
I've noticed we have acquired some skaters in TYN. I don't really know how to relate to them because I've never been on a skate board in my life, and I'm kind of scared to. They're totally awesome guys though, I love them to bits.....and I LOVE Joey's pants!!!!!
I have to say, if I went to a youth retreat twice a month, I would be the most fit person ever! We played capture the flag and snow football this weekend, and having to play in knee deep snow, it was a workout!!! I'm seriously sore all over...not really a bad sore, but an 'I've been working out' sore. I'll have to create a snow football league!

Why Oh Why???

We leave for the youth retreat today, and I have 5 million things to do before we leave, and I have about an hour to do them all from the end of work until we have to leave.
1. Clean out my car
2. Take the child's seats out of my car
3. Pack
4. Make a list of what to pack so I don't forget anything (I can actually do this one at work)
5. Make sure my cat has enough water and food to last him the weekend
6. Clean out my cat's litter box
7. Write a devotional (I can do a little of this at work)
8. Eat supper
9. And get some coffee
I bet most of you are thinking that I should just leave out the coffee because it seems like its the least important of everything on my list....let me tell you, that it's the MOST important. I went to bed last night at around 11pm and I only fell asleep at 3am. THEN I woke up EVERY hour and it took me at LEAST 10 min. to fall back asleep...so, in order to stay awake as I drive 2.5 hours to the camp I MUST have my coffee!!!! It will save lives!!
I'm so jealous of the type A personality people. I, a type B personality, leave EVERYTHING to the last minute. Now I must suffer!

Retreat

Just a little drop in to ask all of my wonderful readers to please pray for the youth retreat coming this weekend. Pray for safety and lots of learning and growing!!

Thank you!

So I'm sitting here, staring at the empty screen wondering what the heck I should write. I thought about not writing, but then people start yelling at me....so just for them I will write and extreemly boring blog..haha.
So as some of you know, I'm going through a hard time right now, and I want to thank you all for praying for me!! I can feel your prayers! God is being so amazing! Even though I'm going through something so big in my life, I am still able to be a good nanny and a good youth leader. He has helped me learn how to separate my hurt from the work that he wants me to do for Him.
So if I don't blog for a while, it's probebly because I'm working things through! Feel free to give me a call!

It's the weekend!!!

For some reason, this week took really long!! I was really busy this week, so I thought that it would feel super fast, but no, I was wrong. But.........ITS FRIDAY!!!!! Only 4 more hours and I don't have to be responsible for anyone. ...Some of you may say "Well, what about Ryan? Who's going to be resposible for him?" in which I will tell you "He is in Mike's hands tonight.".
So I did my first actual workout at Curves yesterday. I love the girl who's training me to use the machines, she's very bubbly, terribly funny, and she pushes me. Although I think she may have pushed me a little too much because my heart rate was a lot higher than it should have been, but I did have a lot of fun!
Every year since I can remember I have loved Valentines Day. Even when I didn't have someone in my life, I would always celebrate with friends or family. This year is different. I have no idea why, but I am very anti-valentines. Maybe it's time for me to see a shrink!!
Anywhoo, have a wonderful weekend everyone....oops, the question on the day...

What is your best or worst Valentines Day?

I can do Titles

Yay, Thanks Tim

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

I have officially joined Curves!!! I was suppose to go for a 20min meeting with them, but it ended up lasting about an hour because I wanted to try out all the machines. The girl that was showing me everything is awesome!! She told me that I had a lot of upper body strength, whcich is weird because I thought I had sucky upper body strength and good lower body strength. I learn new things everyday.
Well I think thats all for today. We're planning the youth retreat today, wish us luck!
Oh yeah, the question of the day...

If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?.....other than Jesus

So I'm taking care of three boys today. I have an Adam visitor for a few hours today. The three of them really like eachother, they all just need to learn how to share thier toys.
I just have to take a few minutes to brag about my friend Courtney. I've been going through some stuff in my life lately and I've been feeling alone and spiritually and emotionally trapped. I went to see Courtney yesterday and I just let everything go...no holding back. She was so awesome!! She hugged me, she listened to me, and better yet, she was honest with me. She didn't say that everything is going to be ok, she said that life is hard and the only way to get through it is with God, even though He's hard to hear right now. After I got everything off my chest, she made me coffee, gave me mint baileys and fudge, and after that we had a dance party like we used to when we were in high school. God has totally put her in my life because she always knows what to say and she can ALWAYS make me laugh, no matter how crappy I'm feeling.
Before I go...the question of the day.

What makes you the happiest?

I haven't blogged in a week, but I've been taking care of a sick 2 year old all week so I've been kind of busy. Poor kid, it was coming out both ends...mostly the bottom end, but he feels much better today, although he is extreemly cranky. I won't go into details about my week in order not to gross you out.
So I have decided to join Curves and work out with Krista and Sheri. I'm really excited!! Working out gives me so much more energy for the day, and I always feel so much better about myself when I do! I can already beat up my husband, my goal is to beat up Tim.
I'm super excited to go to Prov. today with TYN. It's really cool because they have a team there that creates really awesome games that have purposful meaning behind them. Like the Bible smuggling game, we have to smuggle Bibles and try not getting caught by the agents, and if you are you have to be questioned and put into prison. Its really awesome!
